DOL => Direct Online Starter. For Below 10 HP motors we can use DOL starter
SASD => Semi-automated Star Delta Starter. It means, manual star and delta change over. It does not come with the timer. Since timer cost can be eliminated.
FASD => Full Automated Star Delta starter.
There are three basic model starter is being sold by the l&t and they are MK1, MU and MB Starters.

MK2 DOL Starters:
MK2 starter is interconnected with the small bars. Hence the cost of the MK2 model DOL starter is high and meanwhile, the life expectancy of this starter is high. They are mainly preferable the place where the ambient temperature is high. In high ambient temperature, the cable slew may lose the insulation property. To avoid this, MK2 starters are used.
There are mainly used in agriculture submersible pumps. Example agriculture land. Generally, people do not have a provision to reduce the room temperature. In case, in summer season, the ambient temperature will be high and the groundwater will be low; therefore, we need to run the motor for a long time, so the cable will get high temperature. In such a place MK2 are preferred.

MU – Automatic DOL Starters:
MU DOL starters are mainly focused on the open submersible pump for the above 7.5HP motors. Also, they are coming along with the single-phase preventer. Single-phase preventer is used to protect the motor from, unbalance fault.
Almost 75% of motor failure happens due to single phasing. Single phasing mainly occurs due to one of the phase fuse failure, open phase cable, one winding got cut, loose contact etc.

MU / MB DOL Starters from 7.5 HP to 15 HP:
Here MU indicate the model Which means each model has it is own feature. Contactor rating is equal to starter rating. MU model starter can be used from 7.5HP motor to 15 HP motor. While converting kW, we can use it from 5.5KW to 11kW motors. It is nothing the relay can be connected with the lugged cables only.

MU / MB SASD Starters:
Medium power semi-automated star delta starter, that can be used upto 30 HP motor. The price varies from 8205 to 11350/-. In this model, MN and MU relays are used. The main difference between MN and MU relay is the mounting model and the relay adjustment dial only.
- MN relay directly mounting which sticks to fit with the contactor terminal, but MU relay needs to be bolted with contactor terminal. look the picture,
- For heavy-duty application MU relays are used and for low duty application MN relays are used.

ML DOL Starters [HSN Code 8536]
ML DOL Starter are having different contactor coil voltage and it is available for 360 V, 380 V and 440 Volts. They are heavy duty starter. The contactor contact tip can be replaced easily. But above said model of MK1, MK2 and MU, we can not change the contact tip. Incase of failured of contactor we need to replace the entire contact. But ML mode l&t starter provision to repair or change the contact tip.

INCOMER (BY ELECTRICAL AGENCY)
1 Nos. 16A 4P MCB built in thermal magnetic based release (adjustable O/L, adjustable S/C) of fault breaking capacity 10KA (Ics=Icu=100%) upto 415V manually operated with extended rotary handle with castle lock for door interlock with Phase spreader & Phase Barriers at both sides.
METERING, INDICATOR AND RELAYs

BUS BARS
A set of TPN Aluminium bus bar rated of 25A (after considering all necessary derarings) 3 phase, 4 wire, 50Hz. A minium derating factor 0.75 must be taken for calculation of bus bar sizes. The bus bar size after derating shall be equal to the ampere given in BOQ. The conductivity of bus bar shall not be less than 58% and earth bus size shall be 10% of phase bus bar.

STARTER PANEL FOR AXIAL FAN- (Type-2) (INCOMING BY ELECTRICAL AGENCY)
Design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the following cubicle type, dead front, sheet steel, wall mounted Fan starter panels including anchoring into the wall with following details:
All outgoing shall be provided with Stop / Manual /Auto selector switch to facilitate operation through BAS. All starters shall be provided with potential free Contacts for Connections to Building Automation System.
The panel shall include the following components and accessories.
14G CRCA Powder Coated panel enclosure with earthing studs & hinged locable doors. IP52 Protection, suitable for 415V, 3 Phase, 4 wire, 50Hz system.
Incomer switch shall be TP MCCB (motor duty) of required rating & 20KA fault withstand capacity. MCCB shall be with overload & short circuit protection.
R,Y,B LED Type Phase indication lamps with control MCB’s.
ON’/OFF/TRIP Indication LED Type lamp with control MCB.
Digital voltmeter and digital ammeter with in built selector switches.
DOL / Star-delta starter for the ratings given below complete with contactors, over load relay with built in single phase protection. Starter shall be BMS compatible for Remote ON/Off & status monitoring complete with Auto/manual switch.
For on/off/remote and local operation, 3 pole single throw switch shall be provided in each Fan panel to facilitate override of the automatic operation.
A fire detection relay module for switching ‘ON’ of Fan motor on receiving fire signal & fire damper interlocking. Necessary nos. of auxillary contactors & Relays shall be included in cost as required for the interlocking with fan motor & motorised firedampers.
240/24V AC Step down transformer for powering 24V AC auxillary relay.
3 Nos of Single Pole MCB’s Shall be provided at the incoming section of the starter panel for DDC Panel , fire damper actuator & spare
