Mixer Power Consumption Calculator:
Enter the mixer wattage (will available at the bottom), running minutes and the per-unit rate. Then press the calculate button to get the results of mixer power consumption along with the electricity bill per day, per month and per year.
By default, we have added Prestige Elegant Mixer Grinder, 750W, operating minutes as 20, per unit rate as 3.00/-. by pressing the calculate button you get the results.
Mixer Power Consumption Formula:
The mixer is another mostly used households available from 500 watts to 750 watts. The mixer power consumption is directly proportional to the size of the jar, material to be a grind and the speed. However, we have a certain formula for calculating the power consumption of the mixer.
Mixer power consumption E(kWh-Mixer) in kilowatts hour is equal to the mixer wattage (It is available at the bottom) in watts times of the operating hours per day divided by 1000.
E(kWh-Mixer) = Mixer Wattage x Operating Hours per day / 1000
Per Month,
E(kWh-Mixer) = 30 x Mixer Wattage x Operating Hours per day / 1000
Per year,
E(kWh-Mixer) = 365 x Mixer Wattage x Operating Hours per day / 1000
Suppose if you operate the mixer by minutes’ basis means, you can use the below formula for calculating the power consumption of the mixer,
Per day,
E(kWh-Mixer) = Mixer Wattage x Operating Minutes per day / 60000
Per Month,
E(kWh-Mixer) = 30 x Mixer Wattage x Operating Minutes per day / 60000
Per year,
E(kWh-Mixer) = 365 x Mixer Wattage x Operating Minutes per day / 60000
Note: According to the mixer manufacture, the mixer cannot be operated continuously more than 30 minutes. Since the mixer motor is not designed for S1 duty application.
Mixer Power Consumption Calculation:
For calculating mixer power consumption, let us consider Prestige Elegant Mixer Grinder, 750W, 3 Stainless Steel Jar and 1 Juice extractor Jar (available @ amazon). Consider that you are using this mixer for 20 minutes per day.
According to its specification, the mixer consumes 750 watts per hour. It means 0.75 unit for one hour.
Per day,
E(kWh-Mixer) = 750 x 20 / 60000 = 0.25 kWh.
Look at the power consumption table,
Mixer Power Consumption -20 minutes | ||
Consumption | Total (Wh) | kWh |
Hourly | 750 | 0.75 |
Day | 250 | 0.25 |
Month | 7500 | 7.5 |
Yearly | 90000 | 90 |
Hence, the 750 watts mixer consumes 90 units for one year while operating @ 20 minutes.
Mixer Power Saving Tips:
- Grind only well-moistened foods. Example: rice. since the mixer jar comes with the small size blade; when you grind the non-moisture rice, it consumes extra power with a reduced quality. To get fine quality, you have to run the mixer by extra time.
- Run the mixer at minimum speed. Since @ low speed, the motor will receive less voltage and it reduces the electricity consumption.
- Pour appropriate water, since higher water content may lead to an increase in the mixer running time.
- The best way is you can use the ancient method of Grinding-stone for grinding the groceries.
Thank you. If you have any other way to save power in the mixer, please comment below.
