Watts to kWh Calculator & Convert W to kWh:
Here Watt indicates the real power and kWh indicates the total energy consumption. We can get the total energy value by multiplying real power with the time period. To get the kilowatt-hour (kWh), we need to divide by 1000 for the above multiplications.
Let us assume,
E(kWh) = Energy Consumed by the circuit in kilo Watt-hour
P(W) = Real power supply to the circuit in Watts
t(hr) = Time in hours
By applying the above relation for converting watt (W) to Energy (kWh)
E(kWh) = P(W) * t(hr) / 1000
Example:
Let us assume an electric circuit takes 500 Watts per hour and the circuit used for 24 hours. Calculate the total energy consumed by the circuit in kWh – kilowatt-hour.
Use our formula,
E(kWh) = 500 * 24 / 1000
Total energy consumption E(kWh) = 12 kWh.
