Riveting Force Formula:

The Riveting Force RF(lbf) in lbf is equal to the Shear Strength of the rivet SS(lbf/inches2) in lbf per  inches square into multiply the Cross Sectional Area A(inches2) in inches square.

The formula of Riveting Force can be writtern as,

RF(lbf) = SS(lbf/inches2) * A(inches2)

Here,

RF(lbf) = Riveting Force in lbf

SS(lbf/inches2) = Shear Strength of the rivet in lbf per  inches square

A(inches2) = Cross Sectional Area in inches square

Answer

RF = SS * A

RF = 450 * 3

RF = 1350lbf.

2)Calculate the Shear Strength and Riveting Force = 1350lbf and  the Cross Sectional Area =3inches2.
