Radial Velocity Calculator

Enter the values of Change in radial position Δr(rad) & Change in time Δt(s)  to determine the value of Radial Velocity Vr(rad/s) .

Enter Change in Radial Position: Δr(rad)
Enter Change in Time: Δt(s)

Result – Radial Velocity: Vr(rad/s)

Radial Velocity Formula

The Radial Velocity Vr(rad/s) in radians per second is equal to the Change in radial position Δr(rad) in radians and divided by the Change in time Δt(s) in second.

The Equation of Radial Velocity can be writtern as,

Vr(rad/s) = Δr(rad) / Δt(s)

Here,

Vr(rad/s) = Radial Velocity in radians per second

Δr(rad) = Change in radial position in radians

Δt(s) = Change in time in second

Calculation for Radial Velocity ;

1)Determine the Radial Velocity and given for Change in radial position = 40rad , Change in time = 4s.

Solution

Vr = Δr / Δt

Vr = 40 / 4

Vr = 10rad/s.

2)Determine the Change in time and given for Change in radial position = 40rad , Radial Velocity = 10rad/s.
