Pondicherry electricity tariff rates 2020-21:

For LT consumer’s for first 0 to 100 units, they will be charged ₹ 1.5/- per unit, for 101 to 200 units, they will be charged ₹ 2.55/- per unit, for 201 to 300 units, they will be charged ₹ 4.5/- per unit and above 300 units they will be charged ₹ 5.9 per units.

For LT commercial consumer, first 0 to 100 units the per-unit cost will be ₹ 5.6/- per unit, for 101 to 250 units, the unit cost will be ₹ 6.65/- per unit, and above 251 units the per-unit cost will be₹ 7.4 per units.

Additionally, ₹ 45 per service will be charged as fixed charges for LT residential consumers and ₹ 120 per service for LT commercial consumers.

The good news is Pondicherry electricity board do not charge taxes.

Electricity Tariff Calculation

Example:

Calculate the energy bill for an LT residential consumer who consumed 352 units as per the latest tariff 2020.

Here for the first 100 units your cost is ₹ 150/- (100 x 1.5), next 100 units your cost will be ₹ 255/- (100 x 2.55), next 100 units ₹ 450/- (100 x 4.50) and remaining 52 units it costs ₹ 306.8/- (52 x 5.9). The total electricity bill will be ₹ 1206.8/-
