Piston Acceleration Calculator, Formula, Piston Acceleration Calculation

Piston Acceleration Calculator:

Enter the values of Rotation Per Minute RPM(rpm) & Stroke Length S(inches)  to determine the value of Piston Acceleration PA(feet/s2).

Enter Rotation Per Minute2: rpm
Enter Stroke Length: inches

Result – Piston Acceleration: feet/s2

Piston Acceleration Formula:

The Piston Acceleration PA(feet/s2) in feet per second square is equal to the Rotation Per Minute RPM(rpm) in Rotation Per Minute and is squared to multiply the Stroke Length S(inches) in inches is Divided by the value of 2.189 and is squared by 11/3 times.

The Formula of Piston Acceleration can be written as,

PA(feet/s2) = ( RPM(rpm) * S(inches) / 2.189 ) 11/3

Here,

PA(feet/s2) = Piston Acceleration in feet per second square

RPM(rpm) = Rotation Per Minute

S(inches) =  Stroke Length in inches

Piston Acceleration Calculation :

1)Calculate the Piston Acceleration and given for Rotation Per Minute = 6000rpm , Stroke Length = 4inches.

Answer

PA = ( RPM * S / 2.189 ) 11/3

PA = ( 6000 * 4 / 2.189 )11/3

PA = 6.5043928e14feet/s2.

2)Calculate the Stroke Length and given for Rotation Per Minute = 6000rpm , Piston Acceleration = 6.5043928e14feet/s2.

Answer

PA = ( RPM * S / 2.189 ) 11/3

6.5043928e14 = ( 6000 * S / 2.189 )11/3

S = 4inches.
