Muzzle Velocity Formula:
The Muzzle velocity V(feet/second) in feet per second is equal to the SQRT of the value of 2 into multiply the Muzzle energy KE(lbf–foot) in lbf-foot to divided by the Mass of the Bullet M(grains) in grains and again divided by the value of 7000.
The Formula of Muzzle velocity can be writtern as,
V(feet/second) = SQRT ( 2 * KE(lbf-foot) / ( M(grains) / 7000 ) )
Here,
V(feet/second) = Muzzle velocity in feet per second
KE(lbf-foot) = Muzzle energy in lbf-foot
M(grains) = Mass of the Bullet in grains
Calculation for Muzzle velocity:
1)Determine the Muzzle velocity and given for Muzzle energy = 8lbf-foot , Mass of the Bullet = 20grains.
Answer
V = √ ( 2 * KE / ( M / 7000 ) )
V = √ ( 2 * 8 / ( 20 / 7000 ) )
V = 74.83ft/s.

Answer
