Material Velocity Formula:

The Material Velocity Vm(m/s) in meter per second is equal to the SQRT of the Shear Modulus G(Pa) in Pascals is Divided by the Density of the material d(kg/m3) in kilogram per meter cube.

The Equation of Material Velocity can be writtern as,

Vm(m/s) = SQRT ( G(Pa) / d(kg/m3) )

Here,

Vm(m/s) = Material Velocity in meter per second

G(Pa) =  Shear Modulus G(Pa) in Pascals

d(kg/m3) = Density of the material in kilogram per meter cube

Material Velocity Calculation:

1)Calculate the Material Velocity and given for Shear Modulus = 400000pa , Density of the material = 1200kg/m3.

Answer

Vm = √( G / d )

Vm = √ ( 400000 / 1200 )

Vm = 18.25m/s.

2)Calculate the Density of the material and given for Shear Modulus = 400000pa , Material Velocity = 18.25m/s.
