Magnitude Velocity Calculator, Formula, Magnitude Velocity Calculation

Magnitude Velocity Calculator:

Enter the values of X-Component of the Velocity Vx(m/s) & Y-Component of the Velocity Vy(m/s) to determine the value of Magnitude Velocity Vm(m/s).

Enter Initial Acceleration: m/s2
Enter Final Acceleration: m/s2

Result – Average Acceleration: m/s2

Magnitude Velocity Formula:

The Magnitude Velocity Vm(m/s) in meter per second is equal to the SQRT of the x-component of the velocity Vx(m/s) in meter per second to addition of the y-component of the velocity Vy(m/s) in meter per second.

The Equation for Magnitude Velocity can be writtern as,

Vm(m/s) = SQRT ( Vx2(m/s) + Vy2(m/s) )

Here,

Vm(m/s) = Magnitude Velocity in meter per second

Vx(m/s) = x-component of the velocity in meter per second

Vy(m/s) = y-component of the velocity in meter per second

Calculation for Magnitude Velocity:

1)Determine the Magnitude Velocity and given for x-component of the velocity = 25m/s , y-component of the velocity = 30m/s.

Solution

Vm = √ ( Vx2 + Vy2 )

Vm = √ ( 252 + 302 )

Vm = 39.05m/s.

2)Determine the y-component of the velocity and given for x-component of the velocity = 25m/s , Magnitude Velocity = 39.05m/s.

Solution

Vm = √ ( Vx2 + Vy2 )

39.05 = √ ( 252 + Vy2 )

Vy = 30m/s.
