Magnitude of Momentum Calculator, Formula, Magnitude of Momentum Calculation

Magnitude of Momentum Calculator:

Enter the values of X-component of velocity Vx(m/s) , Y-component of Velocity Vy(m/s) & Mass m(kg)   to determine the value of Magnitude of Momentum p(kg*m/s) .

Enter X-Component of the Velocity : m/s
Enter Y-Component of the Velocity : m/s
Enter Mass: kg

Result – Magnitude of Acceleration: kg*m/s

Magnitude of Momentum Formula:

The Magnitude of Momentum p(kg*m/s) in kilogram meter per second is equal to the SQRT of the x-component of velocity Vx(m/s) in meter per second to Addition of y-component of Velocity Vy(m/s) in meter per second and then multiply the Mass m(kg) in kilogram.

The Equation of Magnitude of Momentum can be writtern as,

p(kg*m/s) = SQRT (Vx2(m/s) + Vy2(m/s) ) * m(kg)

Here,

p(kg*m/s) = Magnitude of Momentum in kilogram meter per second

Vx(m/s) = x-component of velocity  in meter per second

Vy(m/s) = y-component of Velocity  in meter per second

Magnitude of Momentum Calculation :

1)Calculate the Magnitude of Momentum and given for x-component of velocity  = 10m/s, y-component of Velocity  = 11m/s, Mass = 13kg.

Answer

P = SQRT ( Vx2 + Vy2 ) * m

P = SQRT ( 102 + 112 ) * 13

P =193.25kg*m/s.

2)Calculate the Mass and given for x-component of velocity  = 10m/s, y-component of Velocity  = 11m/s, Magnitude of Momentum = 193.25kg*m/s.

Answer

P = SQRT ( Vx2 + Vy2 ) * m

193.25 = SQRT ( 102 + 112 ) * m

m = 13kg.
