Free Fall Acceleration Calculator, Formula, Free Fall Acceleration Calculation

Free Fall Acceleration Calculator:

Enter the values of Acceleration of Gravity g(9.81m/s2) , Force of Air Resistance Fa(N) , Mass of the object m(kg)   to determine the value of Free Fall Acceleration Aff(m/s2).

Enter Force of Air Resistance: N
Enter Mass of the object: kg

Result – Free Fall Acceleration: m/s2

Free Fall Acceleration Formula:

The Free Fall Acceleration Aff(m/s2) in meter per second square is equal to the Acceleration of Gravity g(9.81m/s2) in meter per second square to subtracted by the Force of Air Resistance Fa(N) in Newton and is Divided by the Mass of the object m(kg) in kilogram.

The Formula of Free Fall Acceleration can be written as,

Aff(m/s2) = g(9.81m/s2) –  ( Fa(N) / m(kg) )

Here,

Aff(m/s2) = Free Fall Acceleration in meter per second square

g(9.81m/s2) = Acceleration of Gravity in meter per second square

Fa(N) = Force of Air Resistance in Newton

Free Fall Acceleration Calculation :

1)Calculate the Free Fall Acceleration and given for Force of Air Resistance = 100N , Mass = 20kg.

Answer

Aff = g – ( Fa / m )

Aff = 9.81 – ( 100 / 20 )

Aff = 4.81m/s2.

2)Calculate the Mass and given for Force of Air Resistance = 100N , Free Fall Acceleration = 4.81m/s2.

Answer

Aff = g – ( Fa / m )

4.81 = 9.81 – ( 100 / m )

m = 20kg.
