Electron Velocity Calculator:
Enter the values of Current I(amps), Free Charge Density n(1/m3), Charge q(coloumb) & cross-sectional area A(m3) to determine the value of Electron Velocity EV(m/s) .
Electron Velocity Formula:
The Electron Velocity EV(m/s) in meter per second is equal to the Current I(amps) in amps is divided by the Free Charge Density n(1/m3) in one per metre cube and multiply the Charge q(coloumb) = (-1.60*10-19 C) in coloumb and again multiply the cross-sectional area A(m3) in meter cube.
The Formula of Electron Velocity can be writtern as,
EV(m/s) = I(amps) / ( n(1/m3) * q(coloumb) * A(m3) )
Here,
EV(m/s) = Electron Velocity in meter per second
I(amps) = Current in amps
n(1/m3) = Free Charge Density in one per metre cube
q(coloumb) = Charge (-1.60*10-19 C) in coloumb
A(m3) = cross-sectional area A(m3) in meter cube
Calculation of Electron Velocity:
1)Determine the Electron Velocity and given for Current = 25amps , Free Charge Density = 5 *1028 1/m3 , Charge = -1.60*10-19 C , cross-sectional area = 5m2.
Answer
EV = I / ( n * q * A )
EV = 25 / ( 5 *1028 * -1.60*10-19 * 5 )
EV = -6.25e-10.
2)Determine the cross-sectional area and given for Current = 25amps , Free Charge Density = 5 *1028 1/m3 , Charge = -1.60*10-19 C , Electron Velocity = -6.25e-10.
Answer
EV = I / ( n * q * A )
-6.25e-10 = 25 / ( 5 *1028 * -1.60*10-19 * A )
A = 5m2.
