Gibbs Free Energy Calculator, Formula, Gibbs Free Energy Calculation

Gibbs Free Energy Calculator:

Enter the values of Change in Enthalpy H(J), Change in Temperature T(K) & Change in Entropy S(J) to determine the value of Gibbs Free Energy G(J).

Enter Change in Enthalpy: J
Enter Change in Temperature: K
Enter Change in Entropy: J

Result – Gibbs Free Energy: J

Gibbs Free Energy Formula:

The Gibbs Free Energy G(J) in Joules is Equal to the Change in Enthalpy H(J) in Joules is Subtracted by the Change in Temperature T(K) in Kelvin and Multiply the Change in Entropy S(J) in Joules.

The Formula of Gibbs Free Energy can be written as,

G(J) = H(J) – T(K) S(J)

Here,

G(J) = Gibbs Free Energy in Joules

H(J) = Change in Enthalpy in Joules

T(K) = Change in Temperature in Kelvin

S(J) = Change in Entropy in Joules

Gibbs Free Energy Calculation:

1) Calculate the Gibbs Free Energy and given for the Change in Enthalpy 100J & Change in Temperature = 10K & Change in Entropy = 7J.

Answer

G = H – T S

G = 100 – 10 * 7

G = 30J.

2) Calculate the Change in Entropy and given for the Change in Enthalpy 100J & Change in Temperature = 10K & Gibbs Free Energy = 30J

Answer

G = H – T S

30 = 100 – 10 * S

S = 7J.
