Energy Loss Calculator:
Enter the values of Mass of the Object M(kg) , Initial Velocity Vi(m/s) & Final Velocity Vf(m/s) to determine the value of Energy Loss EL(J) .
Energy Loss Formula:
The Energy Loss EL(J) in Joules is Equal to the Half into Multiply the Mass of the Object M(kg) in kilogram and multiply the Initial Velocity Vi(m/s) in meter per second is squared and is Subtracted by the Half into Multiply the Mass of the Object M(kg) in kilogram and multiply the Final Velocity Vf(m/s) in meter per second is squared.
The Formula of Energy Loss can be written as,
EL(J) = 1/2 * M(kg) * Vi2(m/s) – 1/2 * M(kg) * Vf2(m/s)
Here,
EL(J) = Energy Loss in Joules
M(kg) = Mass of the Object in kilogram
Vi(m/s) = Initial Velocity in meter per second
Vf(m/s) = Final Velocity in meter per second
Energy Loss Calculation :
1)Calculate the Energy Loss and given for the Mass of the Object = 8kg , Initial Velocity = 10m/s , Final Velocity = 5m/s.
Answer
EL = 1/2 * M * Vi2 – 1/2 * M * Vf2
EL = 1/2 * 8 * 102 – 1/2 * 8 * 52
EL = 300J.
2)Calculate the Final Velocity and given for the Mass of the Object = 8kg , Initial Velocity = 10m/s , Energy Loss = 300J.
Answer
EL = 1/2 * M * Vi2 – 1/2 * M * Vf2
300 = 1/2 * 8 * 102 – 1/2 * 8 * Vf2
Vf = 5m/s.
