Air cooler Power Consumption Calculator:
Enter the cooler wattage in watts, operating hours and the per-unit rate. By default, we have entered bajaj air cooler data, by pressing the calculate button you can get the air cooler power consumption per hour, per day, per month and per year along with electricity bill.
Air cooler Power Consumption:
An air cooler is a machine used for reducing the room temperature. It consumes 70 to 250 watts per hour. By average it consumes 100 watts per hour and comparing with the air conditioner, the air cooler 500% energy efficient than the AC.
In the air cooler, the circulation pump, ventilation fan, and the swing motor contribute to the power consumption part.
Here, the power consumption in kWh is equal to the product of the air cooler wattage in watts and the working hours per day divided by 1000. The air cooler power consumption formula can be written as,
kWh = W x Hour per day / 1000
For monthly,
kWh = 30 x W x Hours per day / 1000
For Yearly,
kWh = 365 x W x Hours per day / 1000
Let us calculate the power consumption of the air cooler with a simple example.
Consider, Bajaj Platini PX97 Torque 36-Litres Personal Air Cooler (White)- for Medium Room air cooler working @ 20 hours per day.
According to the air cooler nameplate, this consumes 100 watts for one hour.
Hence per day will be,
kWh = 100 x 20 / 1000 = 2 kWh
Per Month,
kWh = 30 x 100 x 20 / 1000 = 60kWh
Per year,
kWh = 365 x 100 x 20 / 1000 = 730 kWh
Note: 1 kWh = 1 unit
Hence 100 watts air cooler consumes 730 units for one year while operating the air cooler @ 20 hours per day.
By considering 4.5/- per unit, the electricity bill will be 730 x 4.5 = 3285/-.
Air cooler Power Saving Tips:
- Keep open the window to get the fresh air from outside to inside.
- Put cold water or ice cubes in the water dub which decreases the operating time of the air cooler.
